Anna Nicole Smith is dead

Wow. This just in: Anna Nicole is deceased.

Anna Nicole Smith has died, this according to her attorney Ron Rail.

Smith collapsed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida and died at a local hospital hours later..

According to hotel officials, Smith was "unresponsive" and emergency responders performed CPR at the scene and a breathing apparatus was inserted in her throat. Anna was immediately transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood just after 2:00 PM EST.

WFOR-TV in Miami reports that Anna was found unresponsive in her hotel room. Local streets were closed off to rush Smith to the hospital, three miles away. Paramedics were seen pumping her chest as she was taken from the hotel.

Anna Nicole Smith received a 39th birthday shock yesterday when her ex won the first step in his battle to prove he's the biological father of her baby daughter Daniellynn. Anna's one-time boyfriend, photojournalist Larry Birkhead, is challenging claims from Smith's partner and attorney Howard K. Stern that he's the baby's dad. And now Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Robert Schnider has ordered Smith to submit her newborn baby to a genetic test to establish paternity. Smith's lawyers have already told the court they will appeal the ruling. Thrilled Birkhead says, "Today feels like my birthday. This is the best present ever."
